Mental health. Social services. Arts and culture. Spirit of the Community grants support projects that address complex community challenges, strengthen community resiliency and foster an inclusive and vibrant future for Alaskans.

We are committed to mental health and organizations that expand access to necessary services.

Success story: Youth mental health services

A recent grant supported a partnership between Providence Alaska Medical Center and Volunteers of America to support an innovative approach to provide school-based mental health and wellness services to youth. Clinicians are assigned to schools to provide professional support to students either in-person or via telehealth throughout the state.

Success story: Crisis Stabilization Center

A grant also supported Providence Alaska Medical Center's new mental health crisis stabilization center in Anchorage. The center will offer immediate care for individuals experiencing mental health or substance-use crises and referrals for appropriate continued care.

Neighbors care for neighbors. We are committed to supporting organizations that lend a hand to those in need.

Success story: Feeding Alaskans

In 2024, our company donated 454,500 meals to the Food Bank of Alaska. This annual drive is the largest in Alaska and one of the biggest in the United States.

Success story: Empowering youth

For 30 years, we have supported Covenant House Alaska's efforts to feed, shelter, and educate homeless youth. A recent grant funded Covey Academy, which offers workforce training, life skills programs, certification courses, vocational training, and apartment-style housing. The program's trauma-informed, evidence-based approach has been shown to significantly increase learners' knowledge and confidence.

Spirit of the Community grants also champion Alaska’s rich culture.

Success story: Enhancing access to the arts

As a longtime supporter of the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, we have funded various programs and initiatives, such as the "Ushering in the Arts" program, expanding accessibility and arts enjoyment for all, and Broadway Alaska, allowing the community to experience world-class performances in Alaska.

Success story: Making dance accessible

Our support has also led to the expansion of the Alaska Dance Theatre's Diversified Dance program, which provides dance instruction to Alaskans with developmental and physical disabilities. Offered free to participants, the inclusive program benefits dancers physically, mentally and emotionally.
